- To talk about finished actions in the past.
- Example: I visited my grandmother yesterday.

Affirmative (+): Subject + past verb
- I played football.

Negative (–): Subject + did not (didn’t) + base verb
- I didn’t play football.

Question (?): Did + subject + base verb
- Did you play football?
