Aim:
I can write percentages as a fraction and as a decimal.

What you need to do:

1. Look carefully at each shaded visual model on the worksheet (grids, bars, or blocks).

2. For each picture, identify the shaded part and work out:

   • Percentage (%)

   • Fraction

   • Decimal

3. Write all three forms in the boxes provided under each image.

4. Make sure your fraction is written in its simplest form.

5. Check that your percentage and decimal match the same value.

 How to think:

• Count how many parts are shaded.

• Compare the shaded parts to the whole.

• Remember:

  • Percent means out of 100

  • Decimals show parts of a whole

  • Fractions show shaded parts over total parts

 Expectations:

• Show accurate answers for all images

• Work neatly and carefully

• Take your time to check your thinking
