Author's Instructions
This scaffold supports learners who can produce language with moderate support. Students complete the guided structure to create their own Christmas stanza, following the 8-syllable pattern (2-2-4) and 5-syllable final lines.
- Below, complete the line using the word bank.
Follow the pattern:
- 2 syllables → Sentence starter
- 2 syllables → Verb phrase
- 4 syllables → Christmas noun phrase
(8 syllables pattern)
- 5 syllables → Final lines
Choose one option from each column to create a grammatically correct line. Not all combinations will be correct. Read the sentence and check that it makes sense before writing it in your stanza.
- Repeat the phrase two more times.
- Bellow, complete the 5 syllable line ending using the word bank.
