For this activity, I show an image of a room and provide a short text describing what is in the room using There is / There are. Students read my description to understand the contents of the image. After reading, they record an audio in which they say what is not in the room using the negative forms There isn’t / There aren’t. This allows them to practice oral production in a controlled, guided way. The activity combines reading input with speaking output, helping students make the connection between written models and spoken language. It is also valuable for practicing the negative form of the target structure. By focusing on what is missing in the image, students develop their ability to observe, analyze, and produce meaningful language. The task supports pronunciation practice, vocabulary recall, and structured sentence formation.
