(PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING SENTENCES AND ADD IN THE APPROPRIATE VERB TO FINISH THE LINE EXPRESSING AN INTERRUPTED ACTION)

I was listening to the radio when the phone rang
[We use the past continuous with the simple past when a long action is interrupted by a short action in the past.
We generally use the word ‘when’ to join the two actions together.
Long action (past continuous): I was listening to the radio (this action is in progress)
‘When’ a short action (simple past): The phone rang (this action interrupted the first action).
