1. Regular and Irregular Verbs 

Rule: 

  • Regular verbs form their past tense and past participle by adding -ed (or -d if they end in e). 
  • Irregular verbs do not follow this pattern. Their past tense and past participle forms must be memorized. 

Examples: 

  • Regular: play → played → played 
  • Irregular: go → went → gone
