GRADABLE AND UNGRADABLE ADJECTIVES

Adjectives are ‘describing’ words. Most adjectives have a meaning which can be made stronger or weaker; these are called ‘gradable adjectives’. Other adjectives have a meaning which is extreme or absolute and cannot easily be made stronger or weaker.

These are called ‘ungradable adjectives’.
