  • Choose Your Words Think about the topic we are studying right now (for example: community, environment, festivals, technology, etc.). Select two (2) words that you believe are important for everyone to learn.
    • The words should be new or not very familiar to most of the class.
    • They must be related to our topic.
  • Write Your Words on the Board When it’s your turn, go to the board and clearly write your two words. Write them neatly so everyone can read them.
  • Present Your Words Stand up and explain your words to the class. You need to include:
    • The definition of each word (in your own words or from the dictionary).
    • Why the class should learn these words. (Why are they useful or important?)
    • Where you found each word (in a reading, video, story, news, song, etc.).
  • Class Discussion and Voting We will discuss all the words together as a class.
    • We will remove words that many students already know very well.
    • We will choose the best __ words (the teacher will tell the exact number). These selected words will become our official class vocabulary list for the next few days.
