A2 KEY (KET) WRITING – PLACEMENT TEST
📝 Student Instructions
This writing test has two parts. Read each task carefully and complete both activities.
- Part 1 – Short Message: Read the message and write a reply. Make sure you answer all the questions in the task.
- Part 2 – Story: Look at the three pictures and write a story using the sentence provided to begin your story.
Before you submit your test:
- ✍️ Write clearly and make your ideas easy to understand.
- 💬 Use the English you know to express your ideas.
- 🔗 Connect your ideas logically.
- 📚 Use appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
- 🔎 Check your spelling, punctuation, and verb forms.
- 📏 Follow the minimum word requirement for each part.
- 🚫 Complete the test independently. Do not use a translator, dictionary, AI, or help from another person.

This is a placement test, so don't worry about making your English perfect. The purpose is to show your current writing level. Do your best and show what you can do!
