Problem with username

Hello,

I recently removed a student to create it again because she was having problems to log in. Now, it shows that the user is taken but I'm pretty sure it isn't because it's a really complicated user... I can not see how to fix it! Is there anything else I need to do to erase the previous one completely?

Good question. We have millions of users in the system, so un-surprisingly it's very possible that the username could be taken. Please keep in mind if you're using email, that too needs to be unique. I'd recommend trying to create the account again and this time add an extra character or letter or symbol to the end to make sure that the username is unique. If that still doesn't, please reach out to support and let us know what student and username you're having an issue with, and we'll review it further.

You said that you have millions of users. but, not all users have the same class code. so how is that posible

Hi Jesus, can you contact support and copy this community post url and let us know the username and student that you're having an issue with, so we can look at it further? We don't want to ask for it publicly for privacy reasons.

This makes no sense. I deleted the student, and his email is still showing that it's taken. He can't change his school email address. How is it still in the system? If they make an error setting up their account, and we delete them so they can start over, their email should also be deleted.

Also, the fact we can't see their user names and passwords anymore is extremely frustrating. We are the teacher monitoring the account, and they never remember them.

It's possible that the deletion event is going through propagation within the system, so for a period of time after deleting until it's cleared propagation - if you try to recreate the account you may get a message that it's not available. I'd recommend trying again and allow the system some time after deleting before trying again, perhaps 10-15 mins. If you've done this and it's still an issue, please use the support form to send an inquiry to us including the student email address and username so we can investigate it further: https://www.liveworksheets.com/contact

Regarding the usernames; you are able to view the usernames of accounts under the All Students tab. You'll see the column "usernames" in the table. Regarding passwords, we understand this was a feature that was available in the previous website, however, this was a security issue that we take seriously as it's children and compliance rules for many educational organizations have strict policies by which we must comply with which we also agree is best practice for website security. We hope you can understand.
