A Strange Day at the Zoo

 

Last Saturday, Maria and her little brother José went to the zoo with their parents. The sky was blue, and the sun was shining. It was the perfect day for an adventure!

First, they saw the lions. One lion was sleeping, but the other was walking slowly and looking at the visitors. JosĂ© said, “I think he is hungry!” and Maria laughed.

Then, they visited the monkey area. A funny monkey jumped near Maria and tried to take her hat! Everyone laughed, and Maria said, “He wants to be fashionable!”

After lunch, something strange happened. A parrot started talking! It said, “Hello! I am the boss!” JosĂ© was surprised. “Did he really say that?” he asked. The parrot continued, “Give me a cookie!”

Maria gave the parrot a cookie from her snack box. The parrot took it and flew away. JosĂ© said, “This is the best zoo ever!”

They all went home tired but happy. What a strange and fun day at the zoo!
