FFS - Unit 5

In the story Isaiah reads the poem "Mother to Son" by Langston Hughes which is about never giving up. Read the poem online and then write a poem of your own about times you have wanted to give up but didn't.

Sis says that she will sing Granny’s favourite song – His Eye is on the sparrow. This is a religious song about being happy and free. A version of this song sung by Lauryn Hill and Tanya Blount can be found on YouTube. Use this and the words below to sing this song.

Write a letter to Mr Chicken and use persuasive writing to tell him why he should visit your town. He might want to visit the people, your plants, your animals, a certain shop, eat a certain food or just come to your school. You can choose anything you need to be convincing.
