These are the accents that are added to letters to change the sounds they make. Accents can even change a words meaning. Therefore it is important to know the differences between accents and their purposes.
Accents are used on the vowels A,I,O,U,E, as well as the consonant C.
ACCENT AIGU - Found on the letter 'e' (é), it changes the sound from a short "eh" to a longer "ay" sound.
