Exercise: Write an informal letter

Your friend invites you to his/her birthday party, but you cannot come.

Write a short letter to your friend. In your letter, you should:

• say sorry
• say why you cannot come
• ask about the party
• write 25–35 words

You can use these questions to help you:

•  What is your friend’s name? 
• Why can’t you go to the party?
• What do you want to say to your friend?
•  What question do you want to ask?
