Making Inferences

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

• Understand what an inference question is.
   
• Identify clues in short texts to guess meaning or ideas.
   
• Answer inference questions in simple TOEFL-like reading tasks.
   

The worksheet consists of two parts. In the first part, they have to match vocabulary items from the text with their definitions.They must achieve this by inferring from context. In the second part, they must complete sentences according to the text.
