Step 1: Read the sentence carefully

• Read the whole sentence to understand the meaning.

• Pay attention to time expressions (yesterday, now, tomorrow, since, for…).

Step 2: Identify the time

Decide when the action happens:

• Past → happened before now

• Present → happening now or regularly

• Future → will happen later

Step 3: Choose the correct tense

Use the correct grammar structure for the tense.

Examples:

• Present Simple:
  S + V(s/es)
  She works every day.

• Past Simple:
  S + V2/ed
  They visited their grandparents yesterday.

• Present Continuous:
  S + am/is/are + V-ing
  He is studying now.

• Future Simple:
  S + will + V
  I will call you tomorrow.

Step 4: Check verb forms

Make sure:

• Correct verb form (V, V2, V3, V-ing)

• Correct subject–verb agreement

Example:

• She goes to school.

• They go to school.

Step 5: Review your answer

Before finishing:

• Read the sentence again

• Check grammar and meaning
