                                                                         Chapter 1:-The Sentence

As we know that a sentence is a group of words arranged in a specific order that makes a complete sense or meaning. Here, we will learn how to make a sentence using the given words. We will also know about what a correct sentence is or what the ways to correct a sentence are. Examples related to correction of sentences are given for practice. Solve the exercises given in the grade 4 grammar book chapter 1 to know more abo ut  t he sentences.

Read the following groups of words:

1. is Supriya good girl a
2. name is his Mayank.
3. ten years am I old
4. go I school to everyday

Do these groups of words make sense? No, they do not. So they are not sentences.

Now read the same groups of words:

1. Supriya is a good girl.
2. His name is Mayank.
3. I am ten years old.
4. I go to school every day.

Do the above groups of words make sense? Yes, they do. So they are sentences. Hence, we see that when words are placed in a specific order they make sense and form what we call a sentence.
