Simple present

• We use the simple present tense to talk about routines. 

E.g., My mom makes breakfast every day.  (It happens all week, from Monday to Sunday, repeatedly.)

• Structure

Positive - Subject + main verb + complement.

                He           brushes       his teeth.

Negative - Subject + don't/doesn't + main verb + complement.

                 They         don't                wake up        early.

Question - Do/Does + subject + main verb + complement?

                  Does        her sister    have        breakfast at 9h00?

Be careful! When you use the third person (he, she, it), the main verbs change (E.g., they drink - she drinks), but for negatives and questions, we use the auxiliary doesn't and does for he, she, and it. (E.g., we don't understand - he doesn't understand).

1. I wake up at 6:00 a.m.                   I brush my teeth.
2. I have breakfast.                            I get dressed.
