Yes, you can change the time limit even after the homework has been assigned.
To change it for one homework, click the calendar icon under Actions. A bar will appear at the bottom of the page where you can choose a new date and time, then click Reschedule.
To change the time limit for multiple homeworks at once, select the homeworks using the checkboxes, then click Reschedule in the bottom action bar. You can then set the new deadline for all selected homeworks.
