Hello,

 

I'd like to know if the students could talk freely without me adding an answer in the speak box. 

Is is possible for the teacher to hear what the students say while correcting the exercise?

The answer to your questions is 'No,' unless:
1) You create an Open Answer element and
2) You ask your student to record their speaking and post the link to a shared recording in the OA box. One of the most user-friendly tools for this purpose is https://vocaroo.com/
