- Dental EmergenciesDental problems such as abscesses and periodontal infections may be life-threatening and require immediate medical response.
- Cuts and Lacerations With Excessive BleedingMost of these cases may be attributed to accidental slip-ups with knives or glasses. Whatever the cause, if bleeding is persistent, you should seek emergency care immediately.
- BackachesThis may result from an accident or due to overexerting during a sporting activity. Back pain can prevent you from functioning as you would typically and should, therefore, be resolved urgently before the issue aggravates.

- Difficulty breathing
- Shortness of breath
- Sudden or lasting changes in vision
- Confusion or changes in mental status
- Bleeding that cannot be controlled
- Coughing or vomiting blood
- Vomiting or diarrhea that is severe or persistent
- Suicidal or homicidal feelings
With regards to injuries, deep wounds that result in uncontrolled bleeding, as well as head injuries — especially those accompanied by loss of consciousness and/or vomiting —are best managed in the ER.
