Present simple tense

Students must complete the sentences using the simple present tense.

Read each sentence carefully.
Choose or write the correct form of the verb using either the present simple or the present continuous.

Remember:

The present simple is used to:

• Hablar sobre acciones repetidas o rutinas diarias y estados permanentes.
• Expresar verdades generales o hechos científicos.
• Referirse a horarios o eventos programados.
• Dar instrucciones o indicaciones.

The present continuous is used to:

• Hablar sobre algo que está ocurriendo en este momento.
• Hablar sobre algo que está ocurriendo en este período (pero no necesariamente en este preciso instante), por ejemplo: esta semana, estos días.
• Expresar planes futuros cuando algo ya está organizado.
• Quejarse de algo que ocurre con demasiada frecuencia, generalmente para expresar molestia, irritación o enojo.
• Describir situaciones que están cambiando o desarrollándose.
