Liveworksheets Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 | Last Updated: May 1, 2026
Liveworksheets Holdings, Inc. ("Liveworksheets," "we," "us," or "our") provides online interactive worksheets and related educational services through the website www.liveworksheets.com and associated applications (collectively, the "Service"). We know that families, teachers, and schools care deeply about how children’s information is handled, and we have designed this Privacy Policy to explain our practices in plain language and to comply with U.S. children’s privacy laws, including the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") where applicable, and U.S. state student-privacy laws (such as California’s SOPIPA and similar laws in other states).
Quick summary for parents, teachers, and schools. We collect the minimum information needed to operate the Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 without verifiable parental consent or appropriate school authorization. We do not sell student personal information. We do not use student personal information for targeted advertising. We do not build profiles of students for any purpose other than providing the educational service.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect from and about:
- Teachers, parents, and other adult registered users of the Service;
- Students who use the Service, including children under the age of 14 ("Children");
- Schools, school districts, and other educational institutions that authorize use of the Service ("Schools"); and
- Visitors to our website.
Sections 4 (Children Under 14) and 5 (Student Data and Schools) are especially important for parents, teachers, and schools.
2. Who We Are and How to Contact Us

Registered address: 108 Lakeland Avenue, Dover, DE 19901, Kent County, United States.
Privacy contact email: [email protected]
Use the email above for any privacy-related question, to exercise the rights described in this Policy, to withdraw consent, or to request deletion of a child’s personal information.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide directly
- Adult account information (teachers, parents, other adults): name, email address, password, country, school name, and similar information.
- Student account information (created by a teacher, school, or parent): username or display name, grade level or class assignment, and a password. We instruct teachers and parents not to include a student’s full legal name, home address, email, photo, or other directly identifying information in usernames.
- Worksheet content: answers, responses, drawings, and audio recordings (when a worksheet requires audio input) that students submit while completing a worksheet, as well as content created or uploaded by teachers.
- Communications: messages you send to us (for example, support requests).
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages viewed, links clicked, worksheet activity, time spent, and similar log data.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, maintain sessions, and measure aggregate usage. For users we know to be Children, we limit cookies and similar technologies to those that support the internal operation of the Service.
3.3 Information from third parties
- Schools and teachers may upload class lists or assign students to the Service.
- Parents may create an account for their child.
- Single sign-on providers: if you sign in using a third-party provider (for example, Google), we receive limited account information from that provider as described at sign-in.
4. Children Under 14 (COPPA)
Liveworksheets is used by educators and parents with students of various ages, including children under 14. We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and its implementing rule (16 C.F.R. Part 312).
4.1 Notice to parents
We collect from Children only the limited categories of personal information described in Section 3 above (such as a username, password, grade level, and worksheet responses), plus the device and usage data needed to support the internal operation of the Service. We do not condition a child’s participation in any activity on the child disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
4.2 How we obtain consent
We obtain consent for the collection and use of a Child’s personal information in one of two ways:
- (a) School authorization. When the Service is used in a school context, we rely on the school or district to provide consent on behalf of parents for the collection of student personal information for educational purposes, consistent with FTC guidance under COPPA and the school’s obligations under FERPA and applicable state student-privacy laws. Schools using the Service must authorize the collection only for the use and benefit of the educational institution and for no other commercial purpose, and must provide parents with the notice required by applicable law.
- (b) Verifiable parental consent. When a Child uses the Service outside of a school context (for example, a parent registers a Child directly), we obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from the Child, using a method reasonably designed to ensure that the person providing consent is the Child’s parent or legal guardian.
4.3 Parental rights
A parent or legal guardian of a Child whose personal information has been collected by Liveworksheets may, at any time:
- Review the personal information collected from the Child;
- Refuse to permit further collection or use of the Child’s personal information;
- Direct us to delete the Child’s personal information; and
- Withdraw any previously granted consent.
To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. We will verify the identity of the requester before acting on the request. Where the Child’s account was created by a school, we will work with the school to fulfill the request consistent with the school’s policies and applicable law.
4.4 No targeted advertising; no profiling
We do not use personal information collected from Children to deliver behaviorally targeted advertising. We do not build profiles of Children except as needed to provide the educational Service (for example, saving a student’s worksheet progress for their teacher).
4.5 No sale of children’s personal information
We do not sell personal information of Children, and we do not share it with third parties for the third parties’ own marketing purposes.
5. Student Data and Schools (FERPA and State Student-Privacy Laws)
When Liveworksheets is used by a school, district, or teacher acting on behalf of a school, we act as a "school official" with a "legitimate educational interest" under FERPA (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 C.F.R. Part 99), and as a "school service provider" or equivalent under applicable state student-privacy laws such as California’s Student Online Personal Information Protection Act ("SOPIPA"), New York Education Law § 2-d, and similar laws in other states.
5.1 Use of Student Data
Personal information of students collected through the Service when used for a school purpose ("Student Data") is used only to:
- Provide and improve the educational Service that the school has authorized;
- Maintain, support, evaluate, and diagnose the Service;
- Protect the security and integrity of the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations; and
- Carry out other purposes specifically authorized by the school in writing.
5.2 What we do NOT do with Student Data
- We do not sell Student Data.
- We do not use Student Data to deliver targeted advertising on the Service or anywhere else.
- We do not use Student Data to build a non-educational profile of a student.
- We do not disclose Student Data except as described in this Policy, as authorized by the school, or as required by law.
5.3 School and parent access
The school controls Student Data on the Service. Parents and eligible students who wish to access, correct, or delete Student Data should contact the school. Liveworksheets will assist the school in responding to such requests, consistent with FERPA and applicable state law.
5.4 Data minimization
We design our Service to collect the minimum Student Data needed to provide the educational features used. We encourage teachers and schools not to enter directly identifying information (such as a student’s full legal name) into student usernames or worksheet content where a class identifier or initials would suffice.
6. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information collected through the Service to:
- Create and maintain accounts and provide the Service;
- Save and display worksheet assignments, responses, and progress;
- Communicate with adult users about the Service, including service announcements, security alerts, and support;
- Maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Service, including fraud and abuse prevention;
- Improve, develop, and analyze the Service, including in aggregate or de-identified form; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We send marketing communications only to adult users who have provided consent, and only where permitted by law. We do not send marketing communications to users we know to be Children.
7. How We Share Personal Information
We share personal information only as described below:
- Schools and teachers. Student work and account information are visible to the teacher or school that assigned the worksheet, and to others within the school as the school directs.
- Parents and guardians. Parents who create a Child’s account, or who request access under Section 4.3, may access the Child’s information.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors that process information on our behalf to provide hosting, storage, email delivery, analytics, customer support, security, and similar services. These vendors are contractually required to use the information only to provide services to us, to protect it appropriately, and not to use it for their own purposes.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, a court order, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms of Service; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Liveworksheets, our users, or the public; or to detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
- Business transfers. If Liveworksheets is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will require the successor to honor this Privacy Policy with respect to information collected before the transfer, and we will provide notice to affected users and, where applicable, schools, before any change becomes effective. For personal information of Children and Student Data, we will obtain any consent required by applicable law before such information is transferred or used in a way materially different from the practices disclosed at collection.
No sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws (including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended).
8. Third-Party Services
Where we use third-party services to support the Service (for example, hosting, analytics, or, on adult-facing pages, advertising support), we select providers that meet the privacy and security requirements of this Policy and applicable law.
We do not allow third-party advertising or third-party analytics that build cross-site profiles on pages used by students or on activities directed to Children. On pages directed to adults, third-party services may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policies; adult users can review each provider’s privacy policy for details.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, after which we delete or de-identify it. In particular:
- Student worksheet responses are retained while the teacher or school account is active, or for a shorter period if the teacher or school directs. Teachers and schools may delete student responses at any time.
- Student accounts that have been inactive for an extended period, or whose associated teacher/school account has been closed, are deleted or de-identified according to a documented schedule and consistent with school direction.
- Adult accounts are retained while active; closed accounts are deleted within a reasonable period, except for information we are required to retain for legal, accounting, or security reasons.
A parent, school, or eligible student may request deletion of personal information at any time by contacting [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
10. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption in transit, access controls, vendor due diligence, and security monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage users to use strong, unique passwords and to notify us immediately of any suspected compromise.
In the event of a security incident affecting personal information, we will notify affected users, parents, and schools as required by applicable U.S. federal and state laws.
11. Your Privacy Rights
11.1 All users
You may contact us at any time to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to certain uses, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.
11.2 U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on the U.S. state in which you reside, you may have additional rights, including rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information; to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; to opt out of certain profiling; to limit use of sensitive personal information; and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. As noted above, we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any state privacy right, contact [email protected]. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or contacting us at the same address.
11.3 Parental and student rights
Rights specific to Children and students are described in Sections 4 and 5.
12. International Users
Liveworksheets is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. We will handle personal information in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we handle personal information — especially personal information of Children — we will provide notice through the Service and, where required by law, obtain new consent from parents or schools before applying the change to previously collected information. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised.
